KERIKERI COMES OUT ON TOP WITH NZ’S NORTHERNMOST COMEDY SHOW

Get ready for a two hour comedy showcase of some of New Zealand’s favourite performers with Friday Laughs at The Turner Centre, Kerikeri on 27 May.

This absolutely crack-up lineup features a diverse range of newcomer and veteran comedy talent from all over the country, proving that comedy in Aotearoa isn’t just for the major cities.

Hosting this night of cracking comedy talent is MC marvel Michele A’Court. Michele has performed around the world, including in Las Vegas, Edinburgh, and Vancouver. Winner of Female Comedian of the Decade at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards in 2010, Michele’s work has shown up everywhere on stage, television and radio. Truly one of the country’s best, Michele is a comedy powerhouse that can’t be missed.

Joining the lineup is headline act of the night, comedic superstar Jeremy Elwood. Best known as a regular panellist on TV3's 7 Days and Radio New Zealand's The Panel, Jeremy will bring his hilarious stand up style infused with intelligence to Kerikeri. Jeremy has proven himself time and time again, having headlined comedy clubs in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, America, and his native Canada.

Alongside Michele and Jeremy is Glaswegian newcomer Ryan McGhee, who moved to Aotearoa just a few years ago and is already proving himself as a strong comedy force after bursting onto the scene. Tongan Māori comic Opeti Vaka from South Auckland will bring his hysterical talents North, the same talents that saw him become a Wellington Raw Comedy Quest winner in 2019. Rounding out this eclectic mix is actor turned comedian Sera Devcich. Having appeared on The Project and 7 Days and riding off of a sold out NZ Comedy Fest show, Sera is a must see.

The event was made possible thanks to support from Pub Charities Ltd, and the Far North District Council through the Creative Communities scheme.

All Comedians are available for interviews ahead of these gigs.
