FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR WELLINGTON RAW COMEDY QUEST

WELLINGTON RAW COMEDY QUEST - FINAL

The finalists of the capital’s premier comedy competition have been announced and are gearing up for the grand finale at San Fran on Thursday 18 August. The finalists who have made their way to the top are: Hoani Hotene, Leki Lyons, Fin McLachlan, and Booth the Clown, Keegan Thomas, Aidan Hyland, Alexander Reid, Daniel Boerman.
 
Witness these rising stars in stand-up comedy before they hit the big time in an evening of competitive hilarity hosted by the wonderful Justine Smith. Event producer Jerome Chandrahasen is excited for the final at the end of the month:

The Wellington Raw Comedy Quest final is a real highlight of the year for Wellington comics and audiences. The performers have been honing their craft over the past few months, it'll be a great night out with some big laughs. 

Every year, the RAW Comedy Quest begins with preliminary regional heats in Christchurch, Wellington, Palmerston North and Auckland. From these heats, the top 24 rookie comics go on to the regional semifinals, with the top 10 regional semifinalists then going on to compete in a regional Grand Final. The winner of the regional Grand Finals will go on to compete in the national final in Auckland this October. 

The Wellington Raw Comedy Quest has been a stepping stone for many New Zealand comedians, and national final has seen many Wellingtonians win over the years, James Malcolm, Savanna Calton, Lucy Roche, and Gabby Anderson won the 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018 National Raw Comedy Quests, which winner will make it and can the capital do it again?
