THE WORLD COMES TO KĀPITI WITH AN INTERNATIONAL LINE-UP FOR SATURDAY LAUGHS

Saturday Laughs
Kāpiti
3rd September

Saturday Laughs is back with another two hour comedy showcase! On Saturday 3rd September Coastlands Theatre in Kāpiti will come to life with laughter with this outstanding line-up of comedians from around the world.

Headlining the night is the iconic Persian and Pakistani comedian, Pax Assadi. Pax has become a household name with his widely acclaimed autobiographical TV show Raised by Refugees on TVNZ and earlier this year hosting 60 Seconds. Pax’s rise doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon with him hosting the next season of The Great Kiwi Bake Off.

Alongside Pax is Scottish born Samantha Hannah who knows how to get what she wants after deciding to make a show called How to Find a Husband in a Year, where she matched with a Kiwi online swiftly making him her husband. They now live happily in Wellington where Samantha is a regular on the comedy circuit and still making audiences laugh with shows like How to Win @ Life. Taking us across the ditch is Australian born Trent H. Baumann, who has performed at New York Clown Festival and Glastonbury Music Festival, bringing with him absurd comedy with trademark one-liners and edgy tangents.

Next in the line-up is another international comedian, originally from the northern area of Teesside in the United Kingdom Michael Macaulay. Now a Kāpiti Coast local and Victoria University’s School of Government professor, Michael is making his great return to comedy after a 20 year break, after first starting in stand up comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Canadian import but current Christchurch resident, El Jaguar (A.K.A Derek Flores) completes this internationally renowned line-up bringing with him ridiculous character comedy, improv and plenty of general madness.

This event was supported by the Kāpiti District Council via the Creative Communities scheme.
