NZ COMEDY FEST BRINGS THE LAUGHS TO KĀPITI AND CARTERTON THIS MAY
The New Zealand Comedy Trust presents
Comedy Fest in Carterton – Hosted by James Nokise
Comedy Fest in Kāpiti – Hosted by Tony Lyall
This May the NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo is hitting the road and heading to Kāpiti on 20 May and Carterton on 27 May to deliver a slice of the Festival pie beyond Wellington’s CBD. Both nights will offer up hysterical all-star comedy line-up specials, featuring the best kiwi comedy talent, exclusively for Kāpiti and Carterton.
Kāpiti will be in for a side-splitting night that’s guaranteed to have audiences in stitches, with an evening of comedy hosted by the hilarious Tony Lyall. Head writer and reporter on The Project, and also on TV screens on 7 Days and the 2022 Best Foods Comedy Gala, Tony will bring his high energy storytelling and good vibes.
Joining Tony on the line-up are some of Aotearoa’s finest and most exciting comedians, comedy legend and 2023 ONZM recipient Michèle A’Court, 2023 Billy T Award nominee Gabby Anderson, 2020 Wellington RAW Quest finalist Orin Ruaine-Prattley and the Coast’s very own Sera Devcich (7 Days, The Project).
The following weekend Carterton gets its very own epic night of comedy - hosted by comedy superstar, Fred Award winner, podcast host and social commentator James Nokise. The host of the critically acclaimed RNZ podcast Eating Fried Chicken in the Shower and TVNZ show Yours Faithfully, James will bring his signature brand of political satire and stand up to Carterton.
Joining James to bring massive laughs and loads of fun are some of the very best comedians in the game, Australian comedian Laura Davis (Melbourne Comedy Fest award winner), Lana Walters (7 Days, The Project) and Carterton’s own up-and-coming superstar Aunty Lianne (TVNZ’s 60 Seconds).
“We’re thrilled to officially bring the NZ International Comedy Festival With Best Foods Mayo to Kāpiti and Carterton for the first time this year. We’re all about giving more audiences the chance to have a good laugh and see some of the festival’s outstanding comedy talent live on stage.” says the Festival’s Chief Executive, Lauren Whitney.
Both shows are made possible with support from WellingtonNZ and the New Zealand Comedy Trust.
