GREYMOUTH SET FOR BIG NIGHT WITH SATURDAY LAUGHS
Saturday Laughs
Greymouth
11th November 2023
Laughs on Tour presents Saturday Laughs, a two-hour comedy showcase of some top Kiwi talent, right in the heart of the Greymouth! The line-up of hilarious comedy stars is taking over the Regent Theatre on Saturday 11th November.
Easily one of NZ’s best stand up comedians, the evening of laughs will be hosted by none other than award-winning MC Justine Smith. With a career spanning more than 20 years, Justine is much-loved from her stints on 7 Days, Taskmaster, Funny Girls, The Project and as a writer on Rhys Darby’s Short Poppies. She also hosted the Best Foods Comedy Gala in 2021, won the Billy T Award in 2003 and has won the NZ Comedy Guild Best Female Comedian four times.
Headlining Saturday Laughs is the self-proclaimed People's Princess of Aotearoa, Chris Parker - known for his funny Instagram videos and his legendary win on New Zealand Celebrity Treasure Island. As a comedian and writer Chris has been seen on Taskmaster, 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Jono and Ben, Funny Girls and Golden Boy. He was awarded the Fred Award in 2018 and was the inaugural winner of the Topp Prize in 2022, and was co-creator of THREE’s 2023 series Double Parked.
The all star line-up is rounded out by Canadian comedy act El Jaguar, wrestling his way into hilarity. From Canada, to New Zealand, and throughout Australia, El Jaguar is making a name for himself on the comedy scene using only his fast wits and tight lycra. New Zealand’s best, and only, masked Mexican wrestler brings his electrifying and highly interactive comedy to Greymouth. He is a luchador who only wrestles with the ghosts of long ago glory.
