The Auckland Pride Festival is set to return reinvigorated and defiant as ever as Pride Month will once again take over Tāmaki Makaurau in February 2023. Auckland will light up in rainbow between 1 - 26 February 2023 as the global spotlight falls on Oceania for Pride early next year.

Despite working through multiple ways of presenting the 2022 Festival programme, the Festival cannot go ahead as planned. The decision has come down to the mass disruption caused by the spread of Omicron, the level of preparation required from artists to create their shows and from organisers to deliver such a large-scale event. Crafting excellent live comedy requires the feedback of live audiences. The ongoing impact of the Red restrictions, on top of the extended 2021 lockdown, has made this unfeasible. The Festival was set to feature over 150 comedians from around Aotearoa, across 600 live comedy performances.
NZTrio presents a celebration of 20 years with the LEGACY series, giving an opportunity to look both to the past and the future. The first dates of their jam-packed programme have been announced, including a return to Auckland Town Hall’s Concert Chamber in May, July and November. The 2022 concert series will take audiences on a spellbinding trip through memories and recollections to honour the trio’s remarkable contribution to Aotearoa’s musical landscape.
